Cebiche


Cebiche is a very know peruvian seafood dish that originated in middle of the peruvian territory.

It looks like a tipic seafood but it has fresh raw fish cured in fresh citrus juices(lemonds) with a special flavor and spiced with chili peppers or other seasonings like coriander, chopped onions, salt and more.


We can enjoy many kinds of ceviche around our country as you should: 


Types of cebiche:


Octopus cebiche:

It is a fish cebiche but octopus cebiche is prepared with some tender octopus or boiled water to soften it`s meat.


Fish cebiche:


It's the most common kind of ceviche, from cuts of square-shaped pieces of fish that are later mixed with lemon and salt.



Mixed cebiche: 


It is one that contains the same ingredients as the common ceviche, to which various seafood or fish have been added.


Amazonian cebiche:


It's typical plate from the amazon in our country, it basically consists of being prepared with regional fish meat, like paiche, dorado, doncella and corvina. It usually has charapita pepper.



Cebiche of tollo:

It's prepared with shark, it's common in the Peruvian north coast.



Chinguirito:

It consists of shredded dried guitar meat, a species of ray native to Sechura Bay, it's marinated with lemon juice, limo and red onion. It's usually accompanied with yucca, corn and sweet potato.


There's so many types of cebiche everywhere, it depends from the zone so, it's probably you can found different kinds of cebiche in every region in Peru. Our country is so diverse in gastronomy. We can enjoy all the types of food with good taste when we visit Peru.

Eating Habits

Hi! I'm  Fabrizio Mesia and I'm from Iquitos, Peru.

For breakfast, I usually eat some cereal with milk or i drink a cup of coffee and eat some bread. I sometimes make a sandwich with cheese and a glass of orange juice.

For lunch, I usually have chicken, some rice with green salad and lemonade. It's very tasty ! but sometimes i eat some tuna with race.

For dinner, I often have a fruit juice(banana, strawberries and apples) or a sandwich with milk. I also like having dinner at restaurants every weekend.

I only have 3 foods in 1 day but i sometimes can eat many potatoes or drink some juices in the afternoon.

CHEF PAZ: MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT


Chef Paz is a wonderful restaurant in the city. It's at Putumayo #468 Iquitos, Perú and it is between a market and the big house. It’s small because the street is narrow. The food is great. It opens at 9 am to 4 pm and you can enjoy pasta, snacks and desserts. You can also see the decoration and listen to regional music.


In addition, this restaurant is well known for its unique taste when making its dishes, making the place one of the most visited ones by tourists. One of the most popular dishes  there is the Cream Soup along with one of its most delicious desserts, Mazamorra, made of purple corn, a 100% peruvian fruit and cinnamon, making it so tasty and sweet, the perfect combination.


Apart from that, it's main dish, the Vegetable soup it's a great choice for most of the customers because of its amount of ingredients and the fact that it's so healthy. The soup contains potatoes, carrots, mushrooms, spinach, celery and it goes according to the customer choice. The chef can add or just avoid some things so the customer can enjoy it's soup. It also comes with deals, in which the restaurants gives u either a dessert or a drink if u order two vegetable soups as well. Such a great way to attract tourists and citizens at the same time.
